German DAX, week of March 09;

What can we say? This week we did have a political stock market. Specially the German DAX's performance was certainly influenced by the political theater in East Europe. We do have our doubts that the current weakness is related to economical reasons. The DAX is weak and we can not see such a development by American stocks. Is that due to the famous "German Angst"?

Putting together American indexes and German DAX in one chart we get the following picture:

We can clearly see the DAX is far off.

The list of DAX companies with a positive development last week is short:

HeidelbergCement  4.56%
Infinion                   2.31%
K+S AG NA           1.65%
Continental             0.48%

The rest was in the red and we do not have an economical explanation. We still keep our favorites of last weeks because we expect they will do well as soon the political circumstances are solved. Based on the current crises we will not make any decisions.

But as always: just my 5 cents.
